It's my goal to make sure

that you meet your goals

Not Just Another Agency

Neue Studios specializes in creating brand strategies and memorable visual communications that will help you stand out from competition. I ensure that each and every detail of your communications are built to connect your business with your customers.

I have 20+ year’s experience delivering brand strategies and print communications to a variety of businesses. I’ve done the work and tested the waters - I know for certain that a distinct style and clean aesthetic makes it easy for people to digest messaging.

There’s a lot of agencies out there. I know that. But I'm different. Instead of having professionals under one roof, I select and oversee a team of independent experts (writers, web developers, photographers, filmmakers, and more) to execute the strategy and produce your deliverables. You get the best team without paying for the overhead.

Brands work with us in multiple ways

It’s my goal to make sure that you meet your goals. Seriously. I'm not happy unless you are. That’s why I developed the Purposeful Impressions process, to completely understanding your business, your goals, your customers, and develop a strategy to create memorable communications with your customers that build trust.

My Services

Hi! I'm Mark Terranova, President & Creative Director of Neue Studios.

As a kid, I was always drawing and creating things. I started studying architecture in college, but soon realized there were too many codes and regulations that took the fun out of the creative process I enjoyed. I then discovered graphic design, which captured the practice of problem-solving that I loved - identifying, understanding, and creating solutions with results I could see in a shorter time frame (rather than waiting years).

After I graduated college with my graphic design degree, I worked for a few small creative firms where my skills evolved and I had direct contact with clients which ensured project details were not lost in translation. In the recession of 2009, I was laid off. I had a wife and two young children to support and a strong desire to start my own business. So, in January of 2010 Neue Studios was born to share my process, create meaningful communications, and build lasting relationships with my clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How did you get the name Neue?

In typography, Helvetica is one of the most popular and well-known sans serif typefaces in the world, debuting in 1957. In 1983, D. Stempel AG modified the original into a syntheses of aesthetic and technical refinements to improve the appearance, legibility, and usefulness. It was called Neue Helvetica. I borrowed this idea and named my business Neue because it’s a new take on the traditional agency model.

Why focus on print communications?

I love print. It’s tactile, real, and it’s been proven to be cognitively easier to absorb information and have longer memory retention than on a screen. And, print components help engage consumers to interact with brands online. Read my Power of Print article here.

What's the client's role in your process?

We value what you have to say throughout the process. After all, this is your project. Our Purposeful Impressions process includes you every step of the way. We don’t move forward until you are clear on the direction. It's important you understand how we arrive at a conclusion and the next steps needed to be sure we are on the right path forward. We’ll work with you until you’re completely comfortable with every aspect of your project.

Do you work in digital areas?

Yes. Although we specialize in print, we work closely with digital experts to oversee and create digital experiences (websites, micro-sites, email campaigns, digital advertising, etc.). If it works in print, it will work in digital - but not necessarily the other way around!

What makes Neue Studios different?

What are some common mistakes in print communications?

Putting too much information on a page. You only have a few seconds to make a first impression, let your message be received first. If they are interested, they'll continue reading, if not, you haven’t confused or wasted too much of their time.

No Visual Hierarchy. There should be a visual hierarchy (headline, sub headline, details, call-outs to draw special attention to specifics) for the reader to digest the information. This means leaving enough white space for the information to ‘breathe,’ allowing the reader to easily and quickly scan  the information.

Do you provide files for the communication pieces you create?

Typically, we do not, unless you request this at the beginning of the project. The software we use to create your printed materials is professional software many organizations do not have access to or experienced users to operate. You are purchasing the chosen concept in its final form along with an electronic version of the printed piece or pieces (PDF) for posting and sharing electronically. Stock photography and art is purchased on your behalf. Custom photography is dependent on the individual photographer and their usage rights. The PDF and any applicable photography/artwork will be provided to you upon completion and receipt of full payment.

Who owns the copyright for the communications you create?

Copyright for the work Neue Studios produces transfers to you, the client, as soon as we receive full payment for our services. We do reserve the right to use the work produced for promotional purposes unless requested at the beginning of the project.
